Multilanguage portal

Hi i must make an multilanguage portal.

I think to use the next structure page:

english -> home -> ......

italian -> home -> ....

France -> home -> ....

So any page can be different in language and in contents.

Problem are:

1. If user is not loggon and his browser is italian (DNN open with italian language) but the home page must be italian -> home.

2. If i want use DNN menu, i can't select for language page group. I must add a page value that sign if a page is italian or english or .... (is a simple option but simplifi the multilanguage manage) can you add this option in DNN 4.9?

3. When i click on language selector DNN must switch to same page in different language or if there isn't that page go to xxlanguagexx -> home. So another value to add in page is the link to same page in another language.

This are 2 simple value, but with this value DNN can be a true multilanguage portal. Can be implement in 4.9 version?

Than you.

Re: Multilanguage portal

if you want a site per language with different structure, I suggest to create separate child portals (or parent portals in sub domains) and a landing page with appropriate text and links to the child portals.

If you have individual navigational structure per language, you will need to create custom links to switch to an appropriate page in other language portal. I suggest to use links module in dropdown mode. The language selector does switch the language context and does not provide an option to switch between pages.

If you need to create ML portals with identical page structures, I suggest to have a look at the multiligual solutions from www.effority.net, www.apollo-software.nl and dnn.tiendaboliviana.com as well as ML modules from www.portalfabrik.net.

Re: Multilanguage portal

I want:

1. One admin portal for all 3 language

2. One user account for all 3 language for my customer

3. Not all page structure is identical in the 3 language

4. If user is not loggon redirect to browser language

If think you add:

- the language value for any page (for filter menu in one language)

- the home page for any language

Thank you.

Re: Multilanguage portal

try pageLocalization from www.apollo-software.nl, that is easiest to handle and allows to suppress pages per language.
