Re: problem with language packages

walaa,

There is a language preference that can be set in each user's account. I bet the user account that you are logging in with has a language preference of English. Now that you have changed the default for the portal to Arabic, new users that register will use that as their default language, but the old users who had registered previously will need to update their language preference in their user profile.

Take care,

Ian

Re: problem with language packages

for the language of labels etc. you need to install an arabic language pack for these modules. Unfortunately the language packs posted in the language pack directory support a few modules only, i.e. you will need to translate the others yourself:

  • log in as superuser ("host")
  • go to languages in Host menu
  • enter the language editor
  • select the desired module control from the tree on the left
  • select your target language and check "highlight pending translations"
  • translate texts for each key one by one
  • save each file when finished
  • use "create language pack" to bachup and transfer your translation
  • submit the language pack to the directory on this site, so other users can use it as well

Good luck!

Re: problem with language packages

hi sebastian

i do what you say but when i was in create language pack step

i don't know what is the type of resource pack that i must choose when i was creating the package so i want to ask you what is the resouce package type i shoul choose ?

also i can't understand what you mean with the last step (submit the language pack to the directory on this site, so other users can use it as well)

are you mean that i must install the new package which i made again to the website to let the new translations appear in the modules or what ?

thanks a lot
