Upgrading a language pack 

Hi, If I have a language pack from a previous version of DNN and I like to adapt it to a newer version, what's the best procedure?

Is it possible to upload the previous language pack and then create a new language pack for the new version based on the uploaded (Previous version language pack) and get the new generated language pack to include the new keys for the new version?

or do I stay with a reduced (inclomplete) resource file even after this manouver. (This is my guess)

Is there a way to merge my old recource files and the new ones, discarding resources no longer in use and add resources that's added?

The DNN language manager will do the merging for you, so just go ahead and install the previous version of your language package and build from that.

Besides that, what i always do is to use some comparison tool (eg. winmerge), to compare the en-US resources of the current DNN version with the previous one, to find out what keys have changes in values (AFAIK there is no easier method than that)

Cool, then the most essential is taken care of. As you say, I need to clean up the files between the version upgrades as they probably grow due to discarded legacy resources which probably becomes abundant after a while.

it would be a great assistance for module developers, if we could publish this change report (or only the keys that have been changes in place) on DNN.com
