Re: HiRe: How to add language pack?

Update

I see that the Page Titles and system generated text are updating in the new language when it is selected..very cool !

Is the TEXT on the pages that I have built supposed to change as well, or is the purpose of the Language Packs to change the system generated text only, and not "translate" user pages...

Thanks in advance !

Re: HiRe: How to add language pack?

There is no automatic translation system integrated into DotNetNuke, therefore, if you want to see your own texts translated, you will need to put some dwarfts into your server doing the translation for you.

Re: HiRe: How to add language pack?

hi there

call me stupid but I just want to confirm; in order to change the text on my pages to a different language i need to get someone to do it manually? do you know of any tools that could do it automatically?

thanks in advance

Re: HiRe: How to add language pack?
there is no automatic translation ("Babelfish") included - and I do not recommend to use any, as the quality is far from being acceptable; take the knowledge base from MSDN as an example: though I am sure, Microsoft spent a lot of money for this feature and the subject area is clearly limited (what is important for translation to reduce homonym words), the result is often hard to understand.
