Add a new language

Hi,

is possible to insert one new language, to my dnn site? I mean the language speech to local level in my (very small)  birth village.

I would like to add the new language to language dropdown, so I can use ML modules to show contents in different languges.

If is possible, I wolud like to add also a custom date formatting for the new language.

thanks in advance

cannarozzo

Re: Add a new language

You can - go the languages page and select the language you wish to add.

Remember that you must then do your own translations.

Re: Add a new language

you can add language packs for additional languages, that you can download from various sites listed in the Community :: Language-Packs page, by importing it using host :: languages menu item. you can modify a language pack for a language per portal in admin :: languages or for all portals in host :: portals (host mode), this will not be overwritten by updated system language files. you can also create your own language pack for any other lanugage known by the Dot.Net framework using the create function in host :: languages. Adding a lang pack for other languages requires additional steps described at msdn.

thankyou for the reply, and sorry for the late.

what I did mean is a totally new language, wich is not included in the Language dropdown selector in the Host>Languages page. I want to add and to manage the Bivongese (Bivongi) language, as I currently manage the English (US) and Italian (Italy) languages.

Re: Add a new language

The list of locales in the dropdown is derived from .Net framework, you have to check out MSDN, how to create your own locale.
