Localization of data in database

Hi,
i have a database with products in it. I want to display the product names in the correct locale. When in dnn dutch is selected i want to display the dutch name...etc. Im creating my own modules and I want to show all the product names in a dropdownbox. What changes do I have to make in my database? how does my control reckognise the selected locale? (I tryed to add a locale column to the db and when filling the dropdownbox adding     [locale] = @locale    to the stored procedure but that didnt work)

If anyone could answer these questions or give me a good example id be very happy :)

Regards Paul

Re: Localization of data in database

One way of doing this is to create a name record for each of your products for each locale. You can then have a locale value in your table.

You can then use System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture.Name to get the name of the current locale.  You then can run your query based on that.  I would reccomend in your stored procedure running the query and if nothing is found defaulting it to some language, just incase you don't have localized content for the specific language.
