Re: Change Username, Firstname, Lastname on the register form

mitmit,

You can change these values by editing the file directly:

physical file path: admin\users\App_LocalResources\User.ascx.resx (examples of values found here are: UserInfo_Username.Text, UserInfo_FirstName.Text, UserInfo_LastName.Text)

or by editing them through the application:

(log in as admin or host) navigate to admin -> languages -> language editor (from context menu) -> Local Resources (from the tree) -> admin -> users -> app_localresources -> user.ascx

hope that helps,

Ian

Re: Change Username, Firstname, Lastname on the register form

Ian,

editing the files is not recommended, because

  • if you destruct SQL syntax, loading your portal might fail
  • HTML content needs to be HTML encoded
  • changes will be overwritten on upgrades.

Re: Change Username, Firstname, Lastname on the register form
Mitmit,

First thing, I recommend to check, as Ian's second suggestion, the contents of the localized resources through the application, not by directly editing the resx files.
I quote Ian: "(log in as admin or host) navigate to admin -> languages -> language editor (from context menu) -> Local Resources (from the tree) -> admin -> users -> app_localresources -> " ...and check-verify all the files under that directory.

Do not forget to choose the proper language from the dropdown in the middle of the screen ("Available Locales")... ;-)

HOWEVER: If you try to translate the TOOLTIP message that pops up on mouse hoover over the question mark on the left of each field in the Register form... for-get-about-it. Those strings are hard-coded and are not available for editing.

May be soon they'll be fixed!

Saludos,
Alejandro.
