Localized Permission

Hi,

In our website, we have 60 solution partners. Each partner will have their own content (i.e. a Description, a logo, link to their website .. .etc). We don't want to create 60 separate webpages for each solution parterns so we use the Help Module. In the Help Module, we first create categories and then add tutorial to each category. Each tutorial is actually the content of solution partner.

Now the problem is - we allow solution partner to edit their own content. But with this setting, each solution partner will have access to other solution partner's content and it is not a good thing.

The requirement for this project is to list all the solution partners in one webpage with brief description and have their full content in another place. If you have any suggestion please let me know,

Thank you for your help!

-Oliver

Re: Localized Permission

You would be better off using the User Defined Table which allows users to edit only their own records.

Re: Localized Permission

Hi Philip,

We looked into User Defined Table and it seems to be very versitile. We want to list all 60 solution partners in user defined table and link some of their information to 60 other webpages containing detailed information related to solution partners using Text/Html Module. Is there a easy way to retrieve data from user defined table and display the data to the assocaited webpage(s)?

Please let me know,

Re: Localized Permission

Hi,

It seems that we don't have to use another web page to display the detail information. We can use AdvancedTable.xsl and modify the layout to meet our needs. The Visible properties is very useful to hide information in the listing and display in the detail view.
