it does me no good to have an unfinished feature that i can't turn off.

To answer Philip...
The confusion is caused because somone has named this module by the very broad term "help". The thread starter probably wants to turn off the generally weak DNN help content and the icky little question mark icons. Following the forum logic, I think he correctly turned to this one for the answer.

To belatedly answer Morgan..
No, you can't turn it off, but you can replace the file images/help.gif with a single pixel transparent gif (suitable spacer.gif files are everywhere) and make it mostly go away. Alternatively, you can leave it in place and set about writing your own help content.
