How to Import \ Export Data in Help Module - IPortable?
Modified By ITLackey on 6/6/2007 6:01:11 PM)

I am having an issue trying to export the content from the Help module. Has anyone been able to use the Import \ Export functions in the current release?

Are there known issues with this or is this working in the 3.0.1 release? There is nothing logged in event viewer, but "An error occurred during the export" is displayed on the export page. Please let me know if there is a fix for this or a workaround until it is fixed.

Thanks!

Ian

It works fine.  Make sure you have updated the settings so the two modules know which one is their partner.  We use the Import/Export all the time.

Re: How to Import \ Export Data in Help Module - IPortable?

Hi

I also receive an error when trying to export data from the help module v3.0.1. You say that you have to configure the settings correctly. What are the specific settings to get this to work?

In the tutorial module I have specified the following settings under Help Module Settings

I have chosen the right help category module

Root path for Images: Nothing

Upload XML:  None selected

Upload Images:  Root

In the root path for images put Portals/0

Next version does this automatically for you.

Cheers

Export works fine now, but when I am trying to import exported tutorials / categories, nothing happens. I removed all categories / turorials from help module, but import still doesn't works, it just shows home page without any error or success messages and no changes applied to help module. I checked XML file and it looks fine (I see all my categories / tutorials there).

BTW, on "Import Module" page I see duplicated items in "File" select box. In "Root" folder I have two XML files - "Content.Help.export.xml" and "Content.Help.export2.xml", but I see four items in "File" select box: "export", "export", "export2", "export2".
