Problems with help module

Hello everybody

I'm writting a web app with DNN version 4.0.2.

I managed to install the help module, however it doesn't work completely, I get both "Help" and "Category" items but the categories tree simply doesn't appear, On the module's ASP files where the DNNTREE control supose to appear I recieve this message

"This is a place holder. Additional design-time support will be added in future versions".

I tried to reinstall the module several times - doesn't help.

I upgraded the DotNetNuke.WebControls.dll to version 1.2.1.21408, but still it doesn't help.

Does anybody know how to overcome this problem?

Re: Problems with help module

Did you get this working?  "This is a place holder. Additional design-time support will be added in future versions". is because there is no design time support in VS for the tree yet.  this has nothign to do with the tree showing on your site.  Have you entered any categories?  Please follow the above link to see what to do.

Version 3.0.0 is on relase tracking now and will be released shortly.  It has a numberr of improvements.

Re: Problems with help module

Hi

I followed the above link step by step and also followed the "Help Module user's guide 2.00.01" but still no progress.

As I mentioned both help and category module appear in the site properly and I can also add the first category using the manage categories module, However after adding the first module I get an enpty module and can't see the new category I just added (the V, when I try to add another category I still get the empty module and I can not continue.

No categories tree appears anywhere in my module.

Hope someone can help me with that because I really don't feel like developing help module from the beginning.

Re: Problems with help module

That is very unusual behaviour.  All you should need to do is go to Manage Categories and start adding sibling and child nodes making sure to amrk tehm as visible which you have done.  To get the category tree to be visible when adding tutorials all you need to do is go to the settings page of the module and click update.

Is this what you have done?
