User's Roles Removed using AD Authentication

I have a client that is tyring to use AD to authenticate login to their DNN site. He's using DNN 4.8.2 and I believe Active Directory Provider 1.00.3.

The problem is that user's roles are removed from their DNN profile upon login, except for the "registered user" role.

I'm not familiar with AD, I assume roles are part of it's structure. I saw the check box for "synchronize roles" in the Active Directory Settings. If that is checked, do the roles from AD update each user's DNN roles?

Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.

Re: User's Roles Removed using AD Authentication

That is the way it's supposed to work. Impersonation may be needed in the web.config as per the documentation or if your client has a bunch of AD groups it could be timing out. The synchronize roles code in the .04 release (currently in the Release Tracker testing but available @ http://dnn.gmss.org) has been completely reworked so that this doesn't happen.
