Logon page, going live
Modified By Kimberly on 6/23/2006 12:21:34 PM)

I finally got a fix on the following questions, but I am going to post the answers just in case someone else has the same problems....

1.  I guess the first question has to be...  how do I go live?  I would like to allow users to at logon to our Intranet.  The biggest problem I have is knowing how to connect the intranet domain to DNN.

I am not exactly sure why this didn't work the first time, but this is fixed by going to SITE SETTINGS and adding a Portal Alias.  For example, mine is intranet2.SN.com/dotnetnuke.  If you are reading this you have probably already installed DNN and this won't help you much, but after installing DNN many times, I have learned that it is best to put this in INTIALLY.

2.  The logon page is actually the same problem as the first one...  I go to...  http://dnnsite/admin/security/windowssignin.aspx replacing dnnsite with my domain.  I have set up the AD according to http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/9734/scope/posts/Default.aspx with the exception of changing the webconfig file.  On the server it works great.  Can anyone supply me with the *specific* directions to fix all this?  Should I change files?  How do I get to the website????

Can't give you too much help here, because I used the link in my example above.  Once I used that link everyone can get in so I didn't try the other one! I will have to fix this eventually (starting w/the webconfig I didn't change) because of other little problems I am having.  When I do, I will update this post.  In the meantime, if anyone already has the answser, it will be highly appreciated if you don't mind sharing.

I hope this helps someone!
Kimberly
