I'd have to take a look at the code but you may be able to fix that by looking at the ascx.resx file for the Links module. Alternatively you could just set the view permissions on the module to whatever users have permissions to see it and then add the Account Login module to the page and set it's view state to Unauthenticated Users only.

"I was also leaning towards asking about the permissions of the links module"....What exactly do you mean by that...right now, the links module is accessible to registered users...So anyone trying to access the links will need to be logged into the site...I have allowed only "Registered Users" to access the links module...Also i saw the resource file where the error message is set...i can probably customize that...But it will be better if people can click on that link, log into the site and view/save the document. I also tried adding the log in module on the same page and set its visibility to "All Users"...that did not work...i got the same error message "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File".  I am trying to see if i can modify the code to redirect the users to log in page..Thanks!

It is not a live site...I am trying on this on my local machine..Eventually i would deploy this to a live site..The thing that puzzles me even more is why are there different file systems then - standard, secure and database...By that i mean, when i just add a standard file and set the properties on the links module to allow only registered users, no unauthenticated users will be able to view my file...In that case, what does "Secure File System" and the "Database File System" do? If by just adding a file to a secure file system folder makes a file secure, then it makes sense (I dont need the links module then)...but i dont think thats the case...Right?
