User Roles

I have incorporated the Gallery module in a website. The issues is that, even "Standard" users are able to delete/edit the files posted by the "admin/host". How can i configure it so that all users should be able to upload pics and delete only the pics uploaded by themselves, but only admin/host should be able to delete the pictures posted by others ?

Re: User Roles

In the last beta this is a known issue.  It needs a lot of code enhancement, we try to bring this in for the release. At time users with edit permission have access to upload and edit the configuration.  We planed a complete rework for the permissions on the 2nd release by adding a DAL to the Gallery.  But we are not sure at time if we found a solution that users with edit permission we can restrict to edit the module without a complete code change.  We want to force to come over to a release and so it can be that we had do somthing in the 2nd version.

Kind regards

Matthias

Re: User Roles

Thank you Matthias for the immediate response. Guess, I will have to wait a bit longer....or maybe edit the code myself...

Regards,

Sreenath

I would suggest to wait a lit longer.  At time we are working on the 3-4 last issues and has planed to going in release process shortly. There are over 100 Bug fixes included and the porting to .NET 2.0  also many changes to make the module more XHTML compliant.  We don't get it complete compliant yet, about that needs some months more.  This would then finished in next release.

So if you want to do some Enhancements no the code it will be better to wait for the new source.
