Re: Apply to be a member

I would be interested in becoming a part of the Gallery project team but am concerned that I would not be able to contribute a large number of hours to it on a regular basis as I have just begun development of a complex set of DNN modules for Walk-a-Thon registration and pledge management. I am, however, more or less retired and for the most part control my own hours and availability to projects such as this.

I am particularly interested in integrating my ImageEditor Control (DNN Forge project www.codeplex.com/imageeditor) for image upload and client-side enhancement including cropping as well as work that I had previously done on converting the open source FotoVision gallery from an ASP.Net 1.1/DNN 3.x to an ASP.Net 2.0/DNN 4.x module.

As for experience, I have been involved in all aspects of computer software development for 35  years from assembly language programing on a PDP-10 mainframe to .Net 2.0 windows form and ASP.Net 2.0/3.5 website design.  I have been working with DNN since 2004, contributing regularly to the DNN forums, and am now concentrating my efforts on custom module development for DNN, particularly in the area of solutions for churches and other non-profit organizations. Other free/open source modules of my recent creation include the DNN Forge project www.codeplex.com/contentdejour and ePrayer (available on my own site www.wesnetdesigns.com).

Areas of interest/experience include GDI+ graphics and image manipulation, custom server control development, and MS AJAX. Although I have a good grasp of and regularly use Javascript, CSS, and MS SQL, I do not consider my skills to be particularly high in these areas. I am also very familiar with much of the code of the DNN core framework, particularly as it relates to file and folder manipulation.

I may be contacted via e-mail at bill (at) wesnetdesigns.com.

Hi Re: Apply to be a member

Hi ya,

I would be interested in working with you guys on the Gallery project.

I've got a good deal of experiance in asp.net and dnn.  Been a module developer with dnn since 2.x days with ,net 1.x, .net 2.0, .net 3.0 and currently .net 3.5 and vs2008.

Also have a lot of technical writing experiance having written 8 Internet related books in the past - http://www.bookfinder.com/author/wes-tatters/ or http://www.alibris.com/search/books/author/Tatters,%20Wes.

For my own experance with galleries - as a side projet I have been exploring an intergrating a PAYPAL based shopping cart with a gallery module
both using the original DNN gallery and under silverlight based originally on the silverlight slideshow at codeplex.

The planning was that the module will show watermarked images to unauthenticated clients
 - and also to authenticated clients.
 - until they purchase an image via a BUYNOW type shopping cart.

The user would buy a FOLDER or a single IMAGE or IMAGES
 - purchased images contain a xml reciept file for each image purchased.

Email me at wtatters@msn.com.au

Westa
