Personal blogs as separate entities 

When I create a page with a new blog module, it is poplulated with all of the blogs posted on the web site. The web site should have only a couple of personal blogs that are listed as separate entites with no connection to each other. Does this module allow for this?

For the two that I setup, I deleted the blog_list element so that other user's don't appear. Is there a better way of doing this?

Hi Asaph,

When you're logged in as administrator or host, you should have access to a Module Options action from the view blog actions menu.  Under Module Options, you can set the Personal Blog dropdown to the user's blog that should appear on that page.  This will limit blog entries for that instance of the blog module in that particular tab to the blog you selected.  I believe this may be what you're looking for.

Thanks for the reply. I created two pages, each with a blog module added. These are separate menu items to be viewed as separate pages. When you view one of the pages, there is no need to see the other blog from that blog module. That is what I've done, but I am not sure that I have done this right.

NIce site Corey,

If it meets your needs, then you've dont it right.  I couldn't find the other page, but I saw the entry about your retreat.  That's awesome. 

The only other thing I would recommend is that you consider using metaPost to post to your blog.  It allows you to use the free Windows Live Writer to write your posts.  I think you'll find posting with WLW much easier than using the built in editor, especially the first time you accidentally lose your post because of a connection problem over the internet.  You can check out the link in my signature below for more details and a few videos.  The Community Edition is free and there's a professional edtion with more features, like an auto thumbnail feature like the one seen here.

I'm really confused. I have had a blog (used 4.2?), upgraded it to 4.4, and went to add another page, then placed the blog module on that page.

Now I see the same blog (and child blogs) as on the other page.

Could someone show what I am missing? The 'Blog Settings' module doesn't show any way to 'change the blog I'm looking at'.  Which module has this ability?  What happens to the calendar module for the blog if I post an entry on Page 1 for my blog, and person 2 posts an entry on Page 2 on their blog?  Do both blog entries show up?
