Changes to the provided 4.5 skins?

I have a default portal http://portal.iowacomputergurus.com that I am using the DNN Gray Fixed skin on.  In the past if I had no content in the left pane the item in the middle pane would expand to fit the entire open area.  After upgrading to 4.5 this no longer occurs.

Any Ideas?

Re: Changes to the provided 4.5 skins?

Have you tried looking in the skin.css file?

Could be that the widths have been set to fixed mode.

Re: Changes to the provided 4.5 skins?

I have exactly the same problem and this is causing some serious problems with our site since I was making heavy use of full-width grids.

So please - anyone tell me what to do to get back to real "full-width" without empty spave to the left and right which is apparently "reserved" for the left and right content pane.

BTW - this happens with the regular grey and blue full-width skins.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Tillman Zschucke

Re: Changes to the provided 4.5 skins?

AFAIK there were no skin changes in 4.5. However, we did remove the the xhtmlconformance tag from web.config, which means that the html generated is now xhtml transitional and not html 4.0. This was necessary to allow support for ajax, but you could try setting it in your web.config to see if that resolves your issue http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms228268.aspx

Re: Changes to the provided 4.5 skins?

Thanks for the idea but this did not cause the issue apparently since changing it back won't help.

So any other ideas why this is happening?

Maybe an interesting observation - when browsing such a "full-width" page with Firefox I can see that the module in the center pane is covering the entire screen when the page loads but once loading is completed it snaps back to a size where it seems that the left and right borders are padded. As if there is table space reseved for the empty panes.

Best regards,

Tillman
