Hi

I just wonder if the core team would care to comment on DNNP-3708 where I have compiled a list of similar looking portal errors. My perception is that there seem to be major issues exporting/importing DNN templates in 4.3.3 and below.

This may explain more
http://geekswithblogs.net/mnf/archive/2006/02/17/69780.aspx

Are we likely to see a resolution sometime soon? Sorry to press (sorry begging generally isn't my style :) I do realise the core team is busy and under resourced.

I'm 100% reliant on this issue being solved, and it appears others are getting increasingly desperate as well. The issue appears to have been around for a while now. The main issue appears to be on the XML from the template being created in the first instance. It won't get imported in if there are duplicate moduleID's.

Anything you can do to help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Alex

Yes I've also joined this unhappy club today.

I had a 4.3.3 that imported my 3.1.1 templates perfectly.

Then I exported those from 4.3.3 and am trying to import right now into a brand new 4.3.4 and I get this error.

It's after 1am and this completely kills all the sites I have to have up and running by the morning.

Any fixes or solution is hugely appreciated... I can't do anything with a bunch of sites sitting wrapped up inside these template files. DNN is seriously eating into my sanity.

Cheers!!!!!!

Alex

Didn't get to bed until 6am... have made no progress at all in 4 days of work and am now sitting waiting for backups to be restored by my webhost at $30 a pop. I should never have trusted content to the export function. What a rotten week this has been.

I am in the process to import my portal template to another new DNN portal that I am going to create. Does this mean that I better don't count on portal template to create my new portal?

Beside using template, is there any other way to backup my old portal and then restore it to a new location?

Any advice will be appreciated!
