Module Update command not working - help!

I have a weird situation where the Update command for all modules will not work - but this only happens on a Parent portal that I created on my DNN installation.  I have one site (call it www.site1.com) where everything works just fine - this is my DNN host.  I have created a DNN Parent portal (call it www.site2.com) and the Update command no longer works on this site.

I had recently experimented with PageBlaster and Blowery compression, but I have removed them from my web.config file.   Before then I was able to Update modules just fine.

Need help - thanks!

- Ron.

Re: Module Update command not working - help!

Hi Ron,

Do you get a javascript error?  If so, what does it say?  Also, what version of DNN are you using?

With Blowery you need to exclude the WebResource.axd if you are running DNN 4.x, PageBlaster excludes it by default.

If you are not using either one, then it may be something else, and there are some good answers t what may be the problem in this thread.

Re: Module Update command not working - help!

Hi John.

Yes, it is a Javascript error - 'Webform_PostBackOptions' is undefined.  I'm running 4.3.5.  I've been reading some threads this afternoon and found that this seems to either be an issue with Blowery or IIS settings.  I've modified the Blowery section of my web.config to be "ebresource.axd" instead of "WebResource.axd" but that has not solved my issue.  I am running in a shared, hosted environment.  Note that this was not a problem yesterday...

I will review the embedded thread and see if a find a good remediation - if not, I'll be back...

- Ron.

Re: Module Update command not working - help!

Hi John.  I'm afraid I'm stuck. I've read through the threads and tried several recommendations (turned off compression, turn off caching, turn off the scheduler, create a user account on the host) but nothing is working.  I cannot edit (update) modules in the other portal - I can in the host.  While I installed Fiddler, I don't get what I am looking for ... any further help is greatly appreciated as I am dead in the water with a site that is supposed to be going live in a week.

Thanks,

- Ron.

Re: Module Update command not working - help!

If you want to contact me through the e-mail in my profile (or I think we may have e-mailed each other recently), and let me login as admin, I may be able to figure out what is going on.

If you are still using Blowery, then that is most likely it, but the "ebresource.axd" exclude should have fixed it.  Another thing to check is the mapping in IIS for ".axd" files being handled by ASP.Net
