Senior Web Developer

About the Position:

We’re looking for a talented, innovative, smart, passionate DotNetNuke developer to join a fantastic, highly motivated marketing team at one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. We want a developer who enjoys building insanely great, world-class websites.

The senior Web developer will be responsible for the development, coding, maintenance and enhancement of DotNetNuke online marketing properties, including the DotNetNuke corporate website. We are looking for a smart, passionate individual that will own our online presence and be able to work collaboratively with other marketing resources providing design, usability and content direction.

The goal of these activities will be to continue to portray DotNetNuke as a fast growing, successful software company with a ‘larger than life’ image, brand, community and content through our most important marketing asset: our website. The senior Web developer will work closely with the executive management, sales, product management, product marketing and engineering teams to align the website with sales goals, product direction and strategic company objectives. The senior Web developer must be able to independently ‘connect the dots’ between the business and his/her projects. This person must be able to effectively leverage other assets within the company as well as outside vendors to accomplish their tasks. The senior Web developer must also interpret monthly website data into clear trends that validate their approach.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Make changes to the website on a daily basis, as directed by marketing
  • Create new sub-portals for the DotNetNuke site (e.g. mobile, conference, web seminars, etc.)
  • Become part of site operations, including escalation processes
  • Design, develop custom integrations between the site and other systems (e.g. marketing automation)
  • Fully integrate our website with social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Develop a road map for major projects and continuous improvement enhancements to the website
  • Work with the team to define and implement strategies to improve customer experience, site structure, information architecture, functionality
  • Create new pages, enhance functionality, and ensure overall high quality of the website
  • Ensure consistent adherence to branding, visual, and style standards as well as compliance with applicable policies and legal requirements
  • Report and provide analysis on website statistics on a monthly basis with recommendations that feed into a continuous improvement plan
  • Dynamically function both as tactical, hands-on implementer and strategic thinker – execute site updates and contribute to long-range marketing plans

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-8 years professional experience with website development and implementation
  • Must have hands-on experience with the DotNetNuke platform and coding in C#
  • Demonstrated experience developing complex sites featuring dynamic interaction, rich content, embedded forms, audio, video, and script objects
  • Strong understanding of Web services, design, information architecture and open source extensions
  • Experience implementing RSS feeds, blogs, wikis, and other user community-building techniques
  • Experience integrating with systems such as Salesforce.com, Marketo, Google advertising a plus
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, and IIS required; other languages, environments, and standards desirable
  • Strong social media experience and skill sets
  • Direct experience with organic search (SEO) strategies and methodologies

  • Excellent customer service – ability to work successfully with remote teams and maintain cross-functional relationships at all levels, including executive
  • Must adapt in a rapidly-changing environment and keep up with web trends and technologies
  • Must possess proper command of English language usage and grammar; editing or proofreading experience desirable
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent in a related area.

Location:

Proximity to our office in San Mateo, California is desired but not necessary. Candidate should be located in the US or Canada and anticipate approximately 10% travel.
