Each Edition of the DotNetNuke Web Content Management Platform includes rich content management and design features that make it easy to customize and integrate your DotNetNuke web site into your existing IT environment, such as:
- Content management – The powerful content management system lets developers and site administrators focus on delivering optimal solutions to meet their own unique business requirements rather than coding a custom content management system.
- Site settings – Administrators can define the title of your site and manage search engine descriptions (metadata) and submissions, user welcome messages, logos, backgrounds, and skins.
- Telerik controls – Each edition includes the Telerik RadEditor Enhanced Rich Text Editor for functions like spell checking, image resizing and compression, and more. These tools provide defined access to the Telerik toolset through standard user interface extensions provided with the core DotNetNuke platform.
- Apps — DotNetNuke has a broad range of apps that can be used to provide additional functionality. The software includes more than 25 standalone apps which provide features such as banners, discussions, FAQs, and weblogs. The apps can be grouped to form complete web or intranet pages and can be easily added to, edited, deleted, restored, moved around on a page, or transferred to other pages. Apps are available from third-party vendors on Snowcovered.com or for free download from the DotNetNuke Extensions Forge. Users can also easily change the look of a site using skins. Skins can be easily designed and are widely available from third-party vendors.
- Containers – Used to frame individual modules, containers can be applied to one or more modules or can be set globally across all modules.
- Stylesheets – Built-in stylesheets deliver pages with a uniform appearance. Stylesheets can be configured to modify elements such as font type, color, bullet points, and background color.
- Body background – An image or color can be added to the background of all tabs to further customize the look of your site.
- File management – Administrators can upload files directly from their computers. Uploaded files are instantly available for use on the site and are also listed in a module that handles documents and file downloads.
- Recycle bin – Users can access any content, module, or page that has been deleted and restore it to its original location.
- Drag-and-drop – Users can move containers and modules simply by dragging and dropping them on a page.
- Banner advertising – Through the Vendors tab, administrators can add vendors and their profile information, then upload banners and determine their placement. They can define the number of impressions, cost per impression, or length of ad campaign, track ad views and click-throughs, and define affiliate referrals.
