DotNetNuke Corp. – Underlying Philosophy & Business Vision Administration
In the last two years we have enjoyed tremendous success as a commercial enterprise.  We have introduced commercial editions of the platform; grown revenue very rapidly; completed strategic acquisitions; added customers; and, built a strong channel network.  In this process of rapid growth and success, we have also had our challenges – some of them have been operational growth challenges and others have been communication challenges with key community members.  In this presentation, I will discuss DotNetNuke Corp.’s business philosophy and business model. I will show you why I think our success as a company is deeply dependent on the work we do with the open source product and with the open source community -- and how the two are closely intertwined.  I will also share our business vision as an organization and how that vision plays into both commerce and community.

Effective Auditing and Logging in DotNetNuke Modules Development
DotNetNuke includes a number of features aimed at recording the actions performed on entities. In this session, we explore the principle of non-repudiation and see how it is applied throughout the DotNetNuke platform. We review the state of auditing in the framework – including both entity tracking and event logging – and examine how these components may be leveraged by module developers to track the state of their own entities. Finally, we review the soft-delete implementation of the authentication subsystem and discuss what ramifications this has both in the framework and within the underlying user store.
Secure Module Development Development
Although virtually all DotNetNuke developers appreciate the importance of creating secure modules, fewer such developers are familiar with the techniques and processes that may be used to effectuate this end. In this session, we identify the design principles and patterns that lead to secure DotNetNuke modules and the processes by which we might best-identify vulnerabilities. We examine the tradeoffs between manual and automated analysis, and touch on some common static analysis tools. Finally, we identify the role that these techniques play within the larger concept of threat modeling and secure application design.

CSS Grid Framework Systems Design (Skin Development)
Grid-based design is a traditional method of creating a solid visual and structural balance to a printed document. This technique is also very useful on the web where grid-based pages provide a consistency which visitors can easily navigate. A grid also allows designers to update the layout of the site in a well thought-out, consistent way. In the last year or so, as CSS-only layout has become more and more common, several "CSS Grid Framework Systems" have appeared on the web design scene. In this talk I will discuss the basic ideas behind grid-based design, explain how grid based design can enhance skin development and discus a few of the more popular CSS Grid Framework systems that are currently available.

Configuring DotNetNuke for Performance in a Web Farm Administration
The most common mistake that large enterprises make when deploying DotNetNuke is not planning for a webfarm environment. Most applications are developed and tested within a single server DotNetNuke instance. Most stress testing isn’t done until the site has been deployed and ready for launch. This session dissects key characteristics of high performance sites, and shows how to properly configure your instance to be a high performing site. We will examine proper configuration of DotNetNuke in a webfarm environment, identify key pitfalls to avoid, and discuss how to properly plan for a webfarm deployment.
