Seattle, Wash. – November 4, 2008 – On the evening of Wednesday, November 12th, all attendees registered for this year's DotNetNuke OpenForce '08 conference will be invited to an exciting new event - "OpenForce Social." This evening get-together, to be conveniently hosted on-site in one of the convention rooms of the Mandalay Bay, will provide an ideal forum for members of the DotNetNuke community to meet-up, network, and get acquainted with others. The OpenForce Social event is sponsored by Active Modules, Inc.
The doors to "OpenForce Social" will open at 8:30 PM. Conference goers eager to attend both the final speaker sessions on Wednesday (which wrap at 5:30 PM) and OpenForce Social will have a comfortable three-hour cushion to "recharge," refill their tanks, and drop in for refreshments later in the evening. A selection of beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be on hand, courtesy of Active Modules. Dress code is casual.
OpenForce Social will be a must-attend for any attendees interested in developing relationships and networking. While members of the DotNetNuke community will have ample opportunities during the day to cross paths in speaker sessions, at the exhibitors' booths, or on the conference floor, OpenForce Social will be unique in bringing everybody all parties in a casual atmosphere. It will provide a forum where any topic or idea can be discussed, in any sized group, and with any member of the community present (admin, designer, core team, etc.) It will also be a great place just to make contact and chat after a long day of sessions.
"We're excited to be back at OpenForce '08 this year, and equally as thrilled to be sponsoring OpenForce Social," says Will Morgenweck, President of Active Modules. "The opportunity to help bring together so many members of the community for an evening of socializing, networking, and other festivities couldn't be better. I'd invite everyone to set aside some time Wednesday night to drop in and join the fun."
Besides the opportunities for meeting-and-greeting, the other big appeal of OpenForce Social will be its incredible prize draw. This huge giveaway of incredible items, graciously donated by 15 vendors within the DotNetNuke ecosystem, will include: module licenses, skins, custom development and SEO services, training services, subscriptions, and hosting services. To win these prizes - which range in value from $69-$3,000 - you must be in attendance to turn in your draw tickets prior to 9:30 PM.
Shaun Walker, President and Chief Architect of DotNetNuke Corp. thinks everyone will be a winner at OpenForce Social. “Last year, there was limited opportunity to spend time with members of the DotNetNuke community,” says Walker. “The OpenForce Social event this year will make it easy for all attendees – speakers, exhibitors, and community members - to meet in a central location for a casual evening of open conversation. We’d definitely like to thank all of the vendors who donated prizes for this evening event, and especially Will at Active Modules for helping us to make OpenForce Social a reality.”
Additional information on the OpenForce Social event, including tickets for both the prize draw and refreshments, will be distributed to conference attendees in their bags at the OpenForce event. Additionally, information will be available at both the exhibit booth for DotNetNuke Corporation (#602/604) and for Active Modules (#603.) See you at Tradewinds DEF at the Mandalay Bay Conference Center at 8:30!
