DotNetNuke® Project :: Authentication Providers

The Authentication Provider project is actually a collection which includes both the core components and the individual providers for each authentication type.  At present the supported providers include Active Directory, LiveID and OpenID.

Each member of the Authentication team leads the effort on their own specific provider.  However, they work as a team to ensure that all the providers are well serviced (including forums, fixes, etc).

Just a short note to let everyone know that I submitted a new version of the provider to the Release Tracker yesterday (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/ProjectReleaseTracking/tabid/997/Default.aspx).

Below is a list of the fixes/enhancements added for this release. More information can be found on the Gemini site (http://support.dotnetnuke.com)
Changes/Fixes for this release:
ACD-3084 Authentication Configuration.ResetConfig()-does not clear Provider from cache
ACD-4641 AD Module Does Not Detect Membership of Nested Groups
ACD-5563 Passed Parameters Lost When WindowsSignin.aspx is called
ACD-6416 Displayname gets always set, even if a rule is setup
ACD-6451 AD Provider Cannot Be Disabled
ACD-6452 WindowSignin Processing AD Credentials
ACD-6493 "Mixed-Mode" logins

I also got the documentation done for the 01.00.00 version of the provider. It can be found in the Project's Download Area under Other Files (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Projects/ProviderAuthentication/tabid/840/Default.aspx).

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.01 In Release Tracker And New Documentation

Mike,

Is there a way to get this code for beta testing? How long would it take before it would be released. I am in need of the new version for a project that needs to be ready for release end of this month.

Also, in the older version is there a way to make the 2 buttons (Standard, Windows login) not visible and have only standard login for all the scenarios?

Thanks a lot.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.01 In Release Tracker And New Documentation

I need to get the documentation up to date for the this version which I hope to have done this week and then I'll look at releasing a beta (keep an eye on the forum). I can't say how long it'll take before it's officially released. With the holiday season I can imagine that there may be a slowdown. Standard Login..... not really. If the user already exists then I think they can log in with their credentials but there'll be no role synchronization or verification back against the AD.

Re: Active Directory Provider 01.00.01 In Release Tracker And New Documentation

Thanks for the update.

I am concerned that my users will get confused with the 2 login buttons. Is there any way i can hide them at all ? I would need synchronization/verification against the AD all the time.
