DotNetNuke® Project :: Announcements Module

The announcements module is a basic module used for displaying news items on your site. During all DotNetNuke® versions, the module did not change very much, but starting from DNN 3.3.0, some new features have been added, with more to come.

Recently, the module was upgraded to ASP.NET 2.0, and requires DotNetNuke 4.6.2 to run. Currently the features are:

  • Abillity to add multiple announcements in one module
  • Support for ISearchable (Search and RSS)
  • Basic support for IPortable (Module import an export)
  • Items are templatable. Parsing of the templates is done by the DotNetNuke core token replace functionality

 

For the year 2008, the following new features will be implemented:

  • Paging
  • Inline detail view
  • Categories and / tags
  • Enhanced RSS feeds

Announcements Module: version 04.00.01 has been released

A new version of the Announcements module, version 04.00.01 was released yesteday. This is a stabalization version, with the following bug fixes:

  • Added check during import to verify the announcement image fileid exists for the current portal, and whether the corresponding file is in fact an image (ANN-5289)
  • Fixed tokenreplacement of URL token to support formatting (ANN-6956)
  • Fixed AnnouncementInfo.ReadXML implementation (Importing of content now works as expected) (ANN-6959)

and the following enhancements:

  • Add [EDIT] token to item/alt item template when the token is missing (ANN-6953)
  • Added option in module settings to load default templates from the resources file (ANN-6954)

Hello Erik, you are saying that this is a stabilazation version, however you don't mention about ANN-6914. How come this is a stabilization version then?

I feel like i am being ignored here.

Greenflash, you are not being ignored here. Issue 6914 however is not solved that easily. The proposed solution will cause the module not to work properly for everyone not in an en-US culture. Really, i am open to any suggestions as to how to fix, so if you have an idea that will fix this issue for good, i will definitely implement it.
