DotNetNuke® Project :: Chat Module
This is the homepage for the DotNetNuke Chat Module. The module is "in progress" and while we do have quite a list of features we'd like in it, we're focussing on creating a working basic version first.

This blog is intended to provide status and information for the DotNetNuke Chat Project.

Finaly, way too long after we started developing, the Chat Module has been officially released for the first time. This means DotNetNuke now has an official Chat Module. Isn't that great?

I like to thank Steve Orr for donating his Webchat module. The basic ideas behind his module are still there, although we did rewrite pretty much every line of code. Also I'd like to thank Erik van Ballegoij, being our Core Team Sponsor, for his advice and help. Most of all I need to thank Mart ... Read More »

I thought I'd write a quick update on the Chat module. It's failed in the release tracker yesterday, because of a showstopping issue in the settings page, found after installing on the staging/dogfooding environment.

Finally, and - to be honoust - months later than expected, the Chat module version 1.0 is nearing it's release. Features are still about the same as in this post about the beta version.

We hope to create a roadmap for the module soon (in Gemini of course), but please do feel free to pass your wishes to us in the Read More »

Since the beta version of the Chat Module has failed the release testing process, I had to take it offline. We expect to be submitting a fixed version soon though, keep your eye on the DotNetNuke Chat Module!

So, I'd say it's about kick off time for the chat module. I consider the project team complete at the moment, since I got Martijn Hogenbirk to join the team. He's an experienced developer at Capgemini in the Netherlands and will prove his value to the project.

We've been going through the code donated generously by Steve Orr and found it to be very useful. Also we've been getting some ideas of users vi ... Read More »
