DotNetNuke® Project :: Chat Module
This is the homepage for the DotNetNuke Chat Module. The module is "in progress" and while we do have quite a list of features we'd like in it, we're focussing on creating a working basic version first.

Just a tad later than I had thought I would, I'd like to blog a little about the current status of the chat module.

We've been moving quite a bit lately and we're pretty satisfied with the basic working of the modules at the moment. The first release will be version below 1.0. So that would be some sort of beta. We're hoping to get some good community feedback after that.

The features of the first release will be pretty simple: it will allow your users to chat. We do realise this module is one with great potential and are looking forward to continue to build on the basics we are currently building.

Re: Chat module status update

For a chat module to be really useful for our professional community's DNN portal, we would need the ability to enable User A to send a real-time chat invitation to User B (and, optionally, User C, User D, etc.). In other words, it needs to be something other than "here is the chat room, now everybody join in who wants to.

What do you think?

Steve

Re: Chat module status update

A new project starts simple. Take your time and come up with something simple and useful for the first release. Looking forward to the release.
