DotNetNuke® Project :: Events Module

The DotNetNuke® Events Module is a module which produces a display of upcoming events as a list in chronological order or in calendar format. Events may have additional information and links can be set to automatically expire on a particular date, or re-occur by any specified number of days, weeks, months or years.

SHORT TERM ROADMAP -- Q3 2008

The objective of the upcoming release 04.01.00 will be flexibility in the display and design (templating, themes), and easier distribution of events data (e.g. RSSFeeds). If time allows, we also want to improve the data and  table structure as well, to enable enhancements in the future.

A complete list of issues at hand can be found in Gemini for Events. The team is working hard to complete this list and serious progress is being made. Stay tuned!

Let me present the Development team of the Events module (in alphabetical order of their first name):

Ernst Peter Tamminga - Project Lead for the Events module. Ernst Peter is CEO of a Microsoft Gold Certified partner that has specialized in Custom Solutions with MS SQL and .NET. Most of the web application development is done using the DotNetNuke framework. He has a long background on using new information technology and translating this new technology to practical use. Ernst Peter lives in Leusden, The Netherlands.

Fuji Nguyen - Fuji Nguyen is the Chief Technology Officer of InDyne Inc.  Since the release of DNN version 2, Fuji Nguyen has been involved with DNN custom modules development for internal use at InDyne and for commercial sales.  He joined the Events module team to help with coding.  Fuji lives in Vienna, Virginia, USA.

Keith Stone - Developer.

Marc Huijbregts - He has been working with DNN for two and a half years. First on a project for himself and later for his music band. Marc is updating the nl-NL resource packs on a frequent basis for the Dutch DNN User group. In the past he has worked as an implementation consultant and is currently employed as business intelligence/cost management employee. Marc lives in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.

Michael Kamp - He is a web designer working in a company which develops ASP.NET 2.0+ based web applications. This company has develop it's own framework for these, but they are using DNN for two customer websites and for there own site, where he has done DNN installation, configuration and skinning. He does a lot of his DNN stuff in his spare free time, especially for the Events module. He did a bit of beta testing for Events 3.3.7 (without being a team member), and he volunteered for testing and documentation of the new version. Michael lives in Regensburg, Germany.

Renato Morell - He has working with DNN framework since about one year. Renato uses it for a homepage he created for friends in his my free time. In his job he works as a webmaster, although that is still in classic asp. He is experienced in JavaScript, CSS and SQL. Renato lives in Zurich, Switzerland

Roger Selwyn - He works as an consultant for an IT Services company. He has developed a couple of hobby sites based on DNN over the last 4 years. He has used Alan Vance’s events calendar from the start, so he has worked around the code for pretty much all that time, adding minor functionality where he needed it. He joined up to the team to help with testing, but it has been proven to be difficult to keep him out of the code! Roger lives in Hampshire, United Kingdom.

Spence Hackney - Spence is the founder of Spence Hackney Design, a web site and application development company in Wilmington, NC. Spence Hackney Design works almost exclusively with the DNN framework and specializes in sites for churches, nonprofits, and innovative small businesses. Spence has been working with DNN since the earliest versions, and even put a couple production sites up on DNN XXL.

Ty Augustine - He is a full time IT consultant and web developer.  All of his customer websites use DotNetNuke. He lives in New Rochelle, New York.  He’s also a proud new father.

The time that team members can afford to spent on the module varies. But it is a highly productive and motivated team. A beta version of Events module V 04.00.00 is on the edge of availabiliy. This will be a big Event.

Stay tuned!

Yay! Good to see the module in development again, thank you all for helping.

Many thanks also to Alan Vance for making this mammoth module so useful, it underpins many of the sites that I have put together
