DotNetNuke® Project :: Store Module

E-Commerce is what has caused the internet explosion that made the Internet what it is today. One of the most desired features of a quality web portal is to be able to sell goods., be it products, services, mementos, etc, the ability to sell on the web is still the main reason for having a website today.

DotNetNuke Store is the answer to this need.  The DNN Store out of the box allows you to sell products using either Authorize.Net or PayPal.

Features include categories, products (list and details), mini cart (with integrated controls), full shopping cart (including multiple ship/bill to addresses/recipients), reviews (including a review admin for approving reviews), order history (customer and admin viewable), and provider based gateways.

We have just re-submitted Store 02.01.00 to the release tracker.  Our original submission had some issues SQL issues with localization that were present from the original release.  We also needed to clean up the Source install.  Gilles did a fantastic job with the new Source install package.  We are really hoping to make it all the way through this time.  Keep an eye on the release tracker for updates.

Re: Store back in the release tracker.

I am so gad to see someone has got this module rolling again. I will endeavour to give you as much feedback as possible. If we wanted additional providers added (I am in particular looking at one here in South Africa called SetCom - very similar to PayPal), could we approach the team on this ? I am holding thumbs that the latest release goes through - I have 2 sites already that will make use of this just using the email provider, but will be able to market to a much wider audience if you can assist with implementation of additional providers. Keep up the good work :)

Re: Store back in the release tracker.

This is VERY good news indeed! I was on the verge of using another e-commerce package when I found out the new version is coming out soon. The previous one had too many bugs and limitation (especially localization). My whole site development is on hold until this new version is out. Hopefully soon!

Re: Store back in the release tracker.

Hi Will

I was wondering if you could tell me how long it typically takes for an update to go through the release process ? Do you guys have an eta as to when you'll know if the latest release passes or not ?

Re: Store back in the release tracker.

terjul, very good question. However, I don't have the answer. The only thing we have to go by is the the results of other projects. It looks like the Store has made it past the point at which it failed before, so that's promising. I'm extremely confident in our testing efforts, I'm just not so certain about the core module requirements. The only other thing I can say is that if it does fail again, we are ready to make the changes quickly and resubmit.
