DNN Blog
Looking for a specific blog?
Organizations around the world use DotNetNuke to build and manage rich and powerful websites. At DNN World 2012, DotNetNuke customers will showcase their sites and present case studies describing best practices and pitfalls to avoid when deploying major web properties. Included in this year’s lineup are:
|

DNN 7.0 is simply beautiful and simply powerful. It has a beautiful new design that makes it easy to get started and even easier to manage content with features like drag & drop and a new control panel. DNN 7.0 frees you to design spectacular web sites and develop powerful modules that take advantage of our latest and most innovative user interface advances with a completely rewritten default.css.
But DNN 7.0 also has a beautiful mind. It’s the most powerful version of our Social CMS and development platform to date. It gives in house and commercial module developers the ability to develop web services through the DNN Service Framework which is now based on Microsoft’s Web API. That means that web sites can now communicate and interoperate with any kind of device, application or web site that operates over the web. With the included jQuery, jQueryUI and Knockout.js libraries developers now have even more power to create dynamic client-side applications.
We are also extending DNN 7.0 to work better in the enterprise by providing support for Active Directory and SharePoint Lists.
The DNN 7.0 Community Technology Preview is already available to the community and we are receiving a ton of great feedback. The DNN 7.0 beta is right around the corner. So this year, at DNN World there will be a DNN 7.0 Genius Bar where you can bring your computer and get help from the engineers who are designing and developing our next major product release. One of the most compelling reasons to make the trip to DNN World is to be able to speak directly to the members of the team who spend their days and sleepless nights working to bring you the most useful and compelling new features.

Our theme for this year’s DNN After Dark party (Sponsored by PowerDNN) is “DNN Super Heroes”. So we have decided to hold a costume contest for the most impressive Super Hero costume! The winner will receive a DNN branded Xbox 360.
When I told Chris Hammond that I was thinking of going as Nick Furry, he told me that “he’s not a real super hero, he just kind of organizes and manages the real heroes”. So Nick Furry it is! (And how could I pass up the chance to get a super bad floor length leather coat)
So which Super Hero will you be? I think we know who Ryan and Sabrina from Arrow will be…

I am very happy to announce that 9 new sponsors have signed on to support DNN World 2012! Without the support of our sponsors it would be impossible to to put on such a fun and educational event each year. And one of the main reasons that so many organizations that are interested in the using the DotNetNuke platform come to the conference is to meet face to face with the leaders of businesses that provide products and services for DNN.
