Some have been asking what I have I been up to lately, well in short I have been extremely busy. There have been current projects to finish, studying to do for my MCSD. Trying to attend .NET lectures and siminars when I can. It has been all very hectic. A typical day for me consists of the following:

  • Alarm goes off at 5:00 AM MST
  • Out the door for work by 6:00 AM MST
  • Arrive at office between 6:45 and 7:15 AM depending on traffic
  • Leave the office around 3:30 to 5:00 PM MST
  • Get home anywhere from 4:30 to 6:30 PM
  • Relax for a little bit, playing my favorite game (World of Warcraft)
  • About 7:00 to 8:00 PM start working on my current projects so as to wrap them up
  • Head to bed anywhere from 10:30 PM to 2 AM.
  • Get up and do it all over again.

I believe this is a pretty typical schedule for all developers. At least the ones I have talked to. I between all of that, I try to fit in studying. I use my WoW time as my little break from the world. If I had a bad day, things were hectic, it allows me to let those thoughts a feeling slip away. Then I can get my brain back into programming mode with a bit of renewed vigor. I would be really curious to see what others developers days are like, post them up.

How does this blog work?

Hi Alec,
I was reading your blog entry and realized that the manner in which this blog right here is implemented is exactly what I am looking for. That is, when this blog displays, it initially only shows the first couple of lines from today's entry by you. Then when I click on the 'More' button, the page reloads and shows the entire blog entry. Can you tell me what module in DNN 4.0 would allow me to have this same behavior on a web page? I have 37 emails that I need to display: some are short (150 words) and some are very long (1200) words. I'd like to know how I can do exactly what you have here on this blog, with the 'More' clickable text, so as to expand the entire desired entry. Thanks!!! I will check here and email is dellforum001@gmail.com

Re: Been awhile since my last entry

I know what you mean. It's worse when the day-time job's work comes home with you... and you have a family of young-uns...
