I am pleased to announce the long awaited maintenance release for the IFrame module.

The IFrame 03.02.01 release addresses the following issues:

IFM-4620

Support for the iframe attributes style and onload.  Onload can only be defined by Administrators

IFM-4602

Fixed Event handling for Parameter grid

IFM-4607

Several issues inside parameter grid regarding localization and default width are fixed.

IFM-4604

pass through form post values can be used inside Querystring

IFM-4603

Invalid Characters inside name of Querystring Parameter get removed

IFM-3493

Fixed Localization Resources

IFM-4605

Pass through values are getting filtered, all markups and scripts inside theses values are getting removed.

IFM-4625

Removed UrlParameter

IFM-4601

Old package contained an assembly causing a Exception using Querystring Parameters – fixed

The  IFrame module requires a minimum version of DotNetNuke 3.3.0/4.3.0

If you have any questions, please post inside the IFrame forum.

IFM-4625 might break your current installation. So if you really needed this feature, I would recommend that you stay at 03.02.00 or rethink your architecture.

I was asked to become the new team lead for the IFrame module and I accepted gratefully. IFrame and Xml module are sharing the same concept of a parameter collection, so it is quite easy to maintain both modules.

To be honest, I don’t use IFrames or the IFrame module in any of my public sites. Most of the enhancements happened because of feature requests inside the IFrame forum. I really need your participation. The current IFrame Team has even only one member, it’s me. I will do my best, but I would love to see you joining the team. I need beta testers, documentation authors and, needless to say, developers.

Please contact me at xmlmodule@gmail.com.

Re: IFrame 03.02.01 released.

"IFM-4625 might break your current installation. "
Do you mean just any existing IFrame modules might be broken or do you mean it could crash the whole portal? I haven't used the module yet but would like to try it out, however not if it has explosive capabilities! ;-)

Re: IFrame 03.02.01 released.

It neither crash the portal nor the module.

The new release removes the setting "Urlparameter" which allowed to define the Base Url by a querystring parameter. If you are using this feature on your site, this setting will be ignored after update. So the shown page inside the iframe will be a different one, and that's why it's a breaking change.

Re: IFrame 03.02.01 released.

The IFrame mode is great, however a couple of people have mentioned (in the Forums) the iframe height needs to be dynamically set. I have found this to be the case in my implementation. Is this possible? Thanks

I agree with previous comment, it would be nice to have like an auto grow on the height property.

Re: Pass Form Data in IFrame

Hi-

I am using and IFrame to diplay a webpage. Then the webpage is displayed in the IFrame, A is automatically submitted and passes "username" and "password" (hidden fields) to an external website which allows the user to be automatically logged into the external website.

My issue: when I access the external website via Form Submit within the IFrame, auto login does not occur. If I set the Form's target to "_blank" which launches a new window not in the IFrame, the auto login works fine.

Bottom line: can the IFrame be used to access and external website by passing hidden field data via a Form Post.

thanks-
