Thought I'd mention that the Edit In Place enhancements will be incorperated into 4.5.

Instead of rewriting an entire entry, I think it is best to simply point you to the original blog, which also links the document with all the design details.

Re: Edit In Place Enhancements - A Sneak Peak At 4.5.0

I think this is a great improvement. One question though;
Will there be a possibility to switch inline editing off? In some situations I switch off the Bold/Italic buttons in FCK....
With this new option they could use them anyway...

Edit In Place can be disabled from Site Settings.

Jon,

Does the link Icon Support URLs and Tabs?

And... Can it be overloaded to Support 3rd Party DNN Link Types (Like Bring2Mind DMX, ActiveForums?) Having content editor's cut and paste can lead to bad links, and upset users.

Great work!!!

Cheers,
Brad

The link icon does not show any special dialogs (tabs or otherwise). They simply show the default dialog for the browser's editor.

Are we likely to see the source code for the HTML module back in the source code install for 4.5

At the moment its a bit of a lucky dip looking for its current source code versions ?

4.5 is out and theirs options for inline editor but it doesnt seem to be enabled by default on my upgrade install. How do you enable it?

Re: Edit In Place Enhancements - A Sneak Peak At 4.5.0

I seem to have problems with the Inline Editor.

Upgraded from 4.4.1 to 4.5.0; I can see the Edit icon when I hover the Module Title and the Save and Cancel buttons when I click to edit.

But the icon and toolbar don't seem to show up in the Text/HTML content area. So it's the same process with no confirmation of Save or Cancel; automatically updates.

It works fine in a fresh install of 4.5.0 though and I love it. Any pointers on the issue with the upgrade?

edborhan,
I don't think the latest text/html module is installed automatically for the upgrade.
