Due to the fact that so many Core Team members are attending the MVP Summit in Redmond, combined with remote access challenges, and some production issues encountered during our dogfooding exercise on dotnetnuke.com this week, the DotNetNuke 4.5.0 public release has been delayed until next week. We appreciate your patience.

*UPDATE*

We will be delaying the public release to the week of March 26-30 as we work through the final issues identified in 4.5.0. We appreciate the support of the community as we do our best to ensure a high quality release.

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

This is very welcome news. I was getting worried that the latest version might get rushed out for the MVP summit come what may; I need not have worried. Nice interview on DotNetRocks BTW.

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

I have been unsuccessful in installing 4.4.1. Looking forward to seeing if 4.5 will get us out of the basement. Testing, Testing, Testing. Good work guy!

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

Better to delay 4.5 a week (or however long it needs), than to have hundreds of sites needing a patch with 4.5.1 ! Take as long as you need to get it right.

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

I believe that there should be time schedule for release of new DNN version. This will enable core team to handle major number of issues in each new release and will help to stabilize DNN framework.

I suggest the following:
New Version like 3.x.x to 4.x.x: Typically only after 3-5 years
Major Upgrade to Version like 4.3.x to 4.4.x: Typically only after 2-3 years
Minor Upgrade to Version like 4.4.0 to 4.4.1: Typically only after 2-3 Months

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

wow, i wish you guys were my users at work.... delayed a small application release by a week for quality reasons and got strung up for it! :) My faith in humanity has been restored once again by geeks :D:D

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

I am a new user and just registered today, but I am not new to ASP.NET protal, as matter of fact, I have used IBuySpy since 2002. Now I hear many good things about DNN and cannot wait to check it out. I just downloaded the 4.4 version but haven't installed it. Since I will need to use AJAX with DNN, do you think it is better for me to wait for 4.5? Thanks.

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

Can't wait!

Currently I'm on 3.3.4 and there are a couple of issues in that version that I'm hoping will be fixed with 4.5

The site I have built will have thousands of users; I'm hoping that I can convince the company to use DNN for our new corporate website.

GREAT WORK!!!

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

Just wondering if a decision about the release date of 4.5 has been made? As we're quite excited about the new release and can't wait to get going with it.

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

I'm wondering if the release of 4.5.0 is still on schedule for this week...? With lots of sites/installs to update and about 7 in que to be launched, i'm wondering if we should wait for the release or if it's going to be another week still..?

Re: DotNetNuke 4.5.0 Delayed..

Do you have a new date yet for the public release? I have a new site to put up and will wait if it is only going to be a week or two more, but if it will be a few more months then I will go with the current release.
