DotNetNuke OpenForce '07 Speakers

We have just passed our first major milestone for the DotNetNuke OpenForce '07 conference.  Speaker selections have been made and invitations have been sent.

During the first two weeks of May we held an open call for speakers for the OpenForce '07 conference.  Since this is our first conference we were not sure what kind of response to anticipate.  The community did not let us down.  We had an outpouring of submissions that far exceeded our expectations.  We had a lot of really great submissions but in the end everyone could not speak and we had to make some tough decisions.

The conference will have two separate tracks:  one track for DotNetNuke developers and another track for Administrators and Designers.  In addition we invited several other well known .Net Open Source project leads to speak at the conference.  We anticipate that over time the Open Source side of the conference will grow along with the DotNetNuke side.  We see this as a great opportunity to highlight some of the great things happening in the .Net Open Source community.

Once we have received final confirmation from the selected speakers we will publish the final list of speakers and sessions on the conference site which should be going live in the next couple of days.  Below are just a few stats about the sessions submitted:

Submitted Sessions:

  • 75 Development topics
  • 30 Skinnning/Administration topics
  • 40 Speakers
  • 9 Countries

Just a comment on one of those things I notice for no good reason. Take a look at the last "E" in the Dotnetnuke logo included in your post. It is missing the TM. If I remember correctly, that is against the usage policy for the DNN logo. (Yes, I read the DNN logo usage policy)

@Carlos - I am not sure how the trademark rules apply when the trademarked word appears in another logo with non-trademarked elements. I will pass this along to Nik to review since he is the one who wrote both the policy and created the logo.

I will not be able to visit the conference, so my question is if there are any plans to do video registrations of the speeches...? (and make them available)

Re: DotNetNuke OpenForce '07 Speakers selected

@messmail - Unfortunately we will not be able to do that for this conference. We spoke with the conference organizers and found out that it would be very expensive to get this done. Given that it is our first major conference, we have to be very conservative about committing to costs before we know for sure that we will be able to break even on the cost of the conference. It is possible, if this conference is a success, that we will offer this service for future conferences.
