I just wanted to let everyone know that this project is very much alive. Over the next week I will be creating a blog post that will outline what new features will be added to the links module. I would also like to encourage you to take the time to vote for your most wanted features. You can do so on the Links Module Project page.

I can tell you right now that templated links will be in there for sure.

So where have I been? Well I left CrystalTech Web Hosting in the middle of September to pursue another path with another company. Things have been hectic since then as I have been in charge of a large project for MS Swiss / Swisscom. We just released today. In addition to this, I have been concentrating on the Blog module to help out a friend. We are wrapping up the work this weekend, so you can expect to see more work on the Links module in the upcoming months. The goal is to release a new version in the early part of Q1/2008.

So get out there and vote for your most wanted features.

Are you based in Switzerland? Does Swisscom use DNN?
Where do we vote for the features?

It would be helpful if the individual links could have a publish date and an expiration date. We often have a set of documents that visitors will need at different times throughout the lifetime of a sport or class symester. It would be nice to be able to set up the links module so that links to the documents show up when they are needed and then disapear when they are not.

Hi Alec,

I was looking to add some ad links to my web site (dnn-based) but apparently there is no image links in the Links Module. Any idea when you're going to release that?

It looks like tomorrow will an anniversary of the last release... I know, I know :)

I think I can and would like to help with this project. Do you need help?

Re: I'm alive...and so is the project

thanks for all your efforts

one feature that bugs me is that there isn't a style box for the links, i often want to use different styles for different areas where links are used, and therefore using the main style sheets won't work (unless i'm just not knowledgeable enough about DNN yet... i'm a realtive newbie) In particular i would like to be able to set the distance between links.

Re: I'm alive...and so is the project

Dear Alec,

Can you gives me a date when the link module (with Sours code)
will be available for DNN 4.x, VS 2005, .Net 2.0? I should finish
a project and need to do little changes in the vb files.

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,
Irina
