We had a few teamers install the gallery module and give a bit of feedback over a couple days.  So far it seems the major bugs are gone and the module functions as expected.  There are a couple theme issues we are looking into along w/ any localization issues.  (I sent a copy to Sebastian for loclization testing, thanks Sebastian!)

Depending on when Sebastian has time and gets back to me, I plan on releasing within a couple days after that.  (time to change/test what he finds.)  I have been keeping Shaun in the loop along w/ Scott W. so I hope this will aid in getting the release for download ASAP.

I know the community has long been ready for a new release of this module but I want to make sure whatever is released can hold them over 3-4 months in case the expected changes take much longer than anticipated.

The question you probably have now is what is planning to take so long.  Well, we have dataprovider integration marked for next release along w/ theme improvements.  I hope we can squeeze some file manager integration in there too, but no promises as this is an area we have to really think about.  The dataprovider is big news as I think it will bring stability to the module.

Re: Wrapping Up Testing...

I'm definitely looking forward to install the new release. I've been checking this site on a daily basis for about 3 weeks now :)
I do appreciate and thank god for people like you and the rest of your team that make things like this happen and for FREE. That's why I can't ask for more than that and just patiently wait for the new release. Thank you Chris!

Re: Wrapping Up Testing...

Is Sebastian checking localization in terms of date format changes. My biggest problem I have is the number of errors from dates in UK format that can't be read as being US format.

Quite happy to help test, if it is of use.

Thanks for your efforts Chris

Re: Wrapping Up Testing...

Thanks for the great positive feedback folks. Sometimes it seems as project manager and a core teamer I only see the negative ones but this is definately not the case here.
I am not sure what all Sebastian is doing but I will make sure this is on my checklist prior to release. Is there anything you can fill me in on that will definately reproduce errors?

Re: Wrapping Up Testing...

I keep getting an unhandled error in Gallery/viewer.aspx. I'm pretty sure the date in here is the date of one of my folders in the root. I suspect the error happens when a non authenticated user accesses the page. My portal is setup with UK as the default language, and the same is true for all my users.

I'm sorry, but my coding skills aren't good enough to find my way through to where the problem is to try and resolve it myself.

Go Crispy, sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for all your work and looking forward to getting going on the new version.
