It is trite to say this, but it is true that building a company is all about ‘people’.  In another sense, it is also true that building a company is also about the ‘conversations’ those people have.  In the last nine months, we have been focused on putting a strong business team in place for DotNetNuke Corp.  We are also supported by an extremely talented and accomplished board:  Larry Augustin, Tim Guleri and Vivek Mehra are all accomplished business operators and investors in their own right.

What we did over the last 2 months is identify and recruit a core group of advisors for the people at DotNetNuke Corp. to talk to and benefit from.  The purpose of this exercise was multi-fold:

A.      To provide us with new and different perspectives which helps us look at a situation in a myriad of ways before making a decision.
B.      To provide insight and input in the areas of open source, community building, strategic alliances, sales and marketing.
C.      To help us look at new and different possibilities and opportunities for our business.

This board of advisors, given their expertise and experience will help us have better quality conversations, which in turn will help us build a better company.  The advisors include:

Frank Artale --- Currently Vice President of Business Development at Citrix Systems with previous positions as the Vice President of the Windows Solutions for VERITAS Software and as General Manager in the Windows 2000 Group at Microsoft
Brice Snow --- Founder and CEO of Snowcovered
Andrew Aitken --- Founder and Managing Partner at Olliance Group and a member of the Open Source Software Institute’s Board of Directors as well as an advisory board member for SugarCRM and the SDForum
Glenn Winokur --- Managing Director of Emerson Street Partners and previously the CEO of Scalix

We are pleased and excited to have them on-board and look forward to working with them in building the company.

Re: Building DotNetNuke Corp ... The Process Continues!

Congratulations to all board members (though I would have appreciated to see insiders from DNN community called into the board as well, because in the past, it has been the DNN community supporting the product and lifting it up to current state.)
