It's been far too long (yet again) for a Wiki release but the day has finally come! You can now download the 04.02.00 version of the Wiki module. Here's a very brief summary of what was changed in 04.02.00.
"This release includes fixes to the Save button, cleaned up HTML code for XHTML Compliance, cleaned up isearchable code, removal of the extra BR tags inserted after LI tags, as well as an issue regarding the SEO aspects of a Wiki topic not being reused on edit.
Enhancements to the module include the extraction of the EDIT controls from the same display as the view controls for future flexibility in modifications to the source code. A module.css file has also been added to control the width of the "index", future CSS enhancements will be added in the next few releases."
One other item of note, this version is compiled against DNN 04.09.04, which means it will run on DNN 04.09.04 or greater. If you need to run it on an older version of the platform you can download the source code and compile it yourself. Unfortunately we can't recommend running older versions of the platform.
I've got big plans for the next release of the module, and a goal of having it out in the first quarter of 2010. Stay tuned to my blog here on DotNetNuke.com as I update the Wiki features over the next few months. I'm also working on bringing a new team member on board to help out with the project, I'll make that announcement when everything is completed with the process.
Now, get Wiki'ing!

Re: Wiki Module Version 04.02.00 Released
Hello there
I'm really sorry that I have to place a negative comment here but I guess this is a way to improve.
I'm generally very disappointed looking at the Wiki module especially when I compare it with other DNN modules and the progress they've had over time.
It's always taking so long to get a new realease of Wiki and when we finally get it there nothing much there (at least not enough that can excuse the long time taking for each release).
Major disadvantages of the module are the extremely limited options in the module's Administration as well as the inability to add formulas.
Hope this comments are helpful and that we will get an updated version soon!

Re: Wiki Module Version 04.02.00 Released
Joanna, I can't say I disagree with any of your sentiments, I haven't been happy at the development time I've been able to put into the module either, but that's just the way it currently is.
I'm working on getting another team member to help out with the continued growth of the module, past team members haven't contributed much, partially due to my lack of leadership, but also due to lack of motivation on their parts.
Going forward I hope to see more frequent feature packed releases of the module. If you are interested in helping out (no on really ever is in an Open Source project) feel free to check out the source code and start making enhancements to the module. If they are deemed fit we'll happily include them in a future release.

Re: Wiki Module Version 04.02.00 Released
Hi Chris,
I agree, the wiki module is a bit light, however it has served us well - we rely on it to provide full online documentation for our commercial software products.
Far from perfect, but it gets the (immediate) job done.
That being said, some bells and whistles to make it look and act more like Wikipedia wiki would be nice... ;)

Re: Wiki Module Version 04.02.00 Released
I have been looking for a module very similar to the Wiki for some time, and it would be perfect if there was just the option of grouping items into categories on the left side. That way the tree could be expanded and collapsed to keep items together by relevance. The index section already has this option, it would just need the ability to create more of those folders. Plus signs for expanding would be nice as well. Good job so far though!

Re: Wiki Module Version 04.02.00 Released
Chris,
I spoke with you yesterday on the phone about the Skinning tutorial videos. I have a quick question for you. I am designing a site that will take portions of a document, display them in tree-based navigation, and would allow for users to comment on that particular section of the document. Do you think this wiki control module would work for the above requirements and if not, can you recommend a DNN module that would?
Thanks, Dave

Dave, the Wiki module could be used for that functionality.
