What telerik controls are being used?

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

Q) If telerik RADControls are being used, does their presence in the DotNetNuke framework mean that module developers will be able to re-use these in their own module development? Or will developers have to obtain a license from telerik?

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

Daniel - I found some clarification in this post. I'd like to see a blog post outlining the specifics of the telerik controls and DNN.

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

I am a big fan of Telerik controls and we have used it in many Dotnetnuke based websites we built. It is exciting to know that it will be available for free.

This partnership between DNN & Telerik will give an edge to DNN over other open source platform. Good Job DNN and thank you Telerik.

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

Thanks - both those links were quite helpful. And, yes, I agree that a blog post on DNN to clarify the usage would be great (though the FAQ on Telerik was quite clear as well).

BTW, what "abstract wrappers" to the Telerik controls are currently available in the DNN Community Edition? For that matter, a blog post on the re-usable controls in DNN Community (what they are, how to use) would be a great benefit to developers.

Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

@Daniel The abstract wrappers don't yet exist except for a skin object that has been used in the "* Left Menu" layout of the default skin. Our goal for 5.2, given a very tight time-frame, was to get the base integration done. Once additional wrappers are created we will post more information (it will be fairly obvious when these are in place as they will be used in the admin UI).

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

Great! Thanks for the feedback!

BTW, it seems over the years that DNN is often adding to the cheer of the season with these great Christmas-time releases. Good job!

Re: DotNetNuke Visual Overview

I would suggest to make a help section in every DNN install and then put slides like this in it as well as some training videos on first steps of portal administration. This will help a lot of people.
