Device Detection and Redirection Whether the end user is on a tablet or mobile phone, site developers can use DotNetNuke 6.1 Professional and Enterprise to redirect mobile users to landing pages optimized for their device. Using adaptive rendering techniques available with CSS and HTML 5, DotNetNuke 6.1 automatically detects the specific characteristics of thousands of mobile devices and tailors the design and content of the page as desired by the site authors. Multiple site types can be supported for individual pages that allow for the delivery of specific experiences for tablets, Android phones or other devices. Content Preview DotNetNuke 6.1 provides a mobile content previewer that makes it easy for developers, designers and content owners to optimize the mobile experience of their websites early in the process without requiring physical access to thousands of different mobile devices. The content previewer supports Android, Apple iOS, Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry devices, all without leaving the DotNetNuke platform. The Content Preview capability will make it easier for our Professional and Enterprise customers to create and manage content targeting multiple devices. Client Resource Management A number of client-side performance improvements have been incorporated into DotNetNuke 6.1 that have dramatically reduced the time it takes for website pages to be rendered. Web requests required to render pages have been reduced by 70%, making this the fastest version of DotNetNuke ever released. Client Resource Management will greatly improve many websites. Since this feature can potentially have an impact on 3rd-party modules and skins, we have made sure that users will have to take necessary steps before enabling this feature. Please refer to the wiki for more details. Site Groups The Professional and Enterprise versions of DotNetNuke 6.1 provide a new capability to simplify the management of users across multiple websites. In addition to a single sign-on capability for content owners, a simplified set of administration screens allows administrators to set up and manage granular permissions for the same users across many different sites. What Are You Waiting For? DotNetNuke has everything you need to build your mobile website. DotNetNuke includes something for everyone, whether you are just trying it for the first time, are a long time user, or are just coming back to see what all the excitement is about. We encourage you to download a copy today and try it out for yourself. For a full list of the bug-fixes, changes and enhancements please see the DotNetNuke 6.1 Changelog. As always, remember to do a trial upgrade in a test environment and to make a file and database backup prior to upgrading to DotNetNuke 6.1. While most of your DotNetNuke 4 & 5 modules and skins will work in DotNetNuke 6.1, some of our vendors have already started releasing updated versions of their modules that take advantage of new DotNetNuke 6.1 features, so check with them to see if upgrades for your modules or skins already exist.

Re: Announcing DotNetNuke 6.1!
@all All DNN releases are the same version. 6.1 applies to both CE and PE versions.
@Tony Harrison - the client resource management feature is one of the best things to happen to the framework from a performance point of view for a long time.

Re: Announcing DotNetNuke 6.1!
Active Forums isn't going into the core. Active Forums and the existing DNN Forum module are being merged into a new module that will be available on CodePlex. That module is currently under development.
Active Social will be integrated with DNN 6.2.
