Out Present – Out Speak – Out Network
Two weeks ago we opened up registration for DotNetNuke World 2012 and posted the list of sessions that had been selected this year. As we have done for the last 5 years, the speaker selection committee sifted through hundreds of session submissions to find the best topics and speakers for this years conference. We think we have identified a great group of speakers with some exciting sessions. But the current list of sessions is only the beginning.
I am a reality show junkie and a big fan of Survivor and American Idol. What I like most about these shows is how they use group dynamics and multiple rounds of voting to determine the ultimate “winner”. I love watching each week to see which contestants will move one step closer to the final prize and who will go home early. American Idol is especially interesting to me because of how the voting dynamics change over the course of the show. As contestants are voted off, fans of those contestants shift their votes to their next favorite, which is not necessarily the person who won in the previous rounds of voting.
This year we wanted to change things up a little and open up part of the selection process to the community. We have 2 open speaking slots remaining and we are asking for your assistance to help fill them. We have selected 12 sessions and speakers from the list and are opening them up to community voting. Each week we will remove the session which receives the fewest votes. We’ll continue voting until we have just 2 sessions remaining.
This is a chance for you to help shape this year’s conference so please take a few minutes to review the speakers and sessions and vote for your favorite one. Each week through the end of the summer we’ll be eliminating one session so don’t forget to vote each week. Every Monday we’ll reset the voting and announce the latest session to be voted off. For those speakers who are still in the running, this is an opportunity to sharpen your social skills and convince your fellow community members why your session should be chosen for DotNetNuke World.
So what are you waiting for: Go Vote!
