I enabled SSL on a site, and enabled the secure settings on a few pages. Now, I get that "this page contains both secure and nonsecure items" dialogue on several pages. Where causes it? How do I get rid of it?

Thanks

A common cause of that warning is when you have images on the ssl page or as part of the skin that are not referenced via https. Go through the source of the page that is doing it and change the paths to https.

Hi Paul

I am also looking for a solution to this problem.

The issue seems to occur when DNN uploads a skin, it rewrites the URL statements so that they have relative paths to the root directory. When ssl is enabled on the page, relative paths are resolved as unsecured links, causing the browser warning messages.

We are going to try SSL Module 4.5 http://www.snowcovered.com/snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=7182 from the write up it should solve the unsecure image message but we would still like to find more options.

I haven't set this up on any site yet, but I don't get this error on the Donetnuke.com login page.

So, they must have done something to make it work.

Does anyone have a solution yet that doesn't involve a 3rd party module?
