Was this ever resolved? I'm running 4.7, and am getting "Error creating Portal" as well. The bug report referred to above sounds like a different, though possibly related, issue. If I upgrade to 4.8, can I expect that I can once again be able to create new portals?

Still looking to see if there has been a solution to this issue.

I too am running 4.7 - was able to add one parent portal (have a total of 2) but cannot add any additional ones - getting the The Portal Alias Name You Specified Already Exists  -  does anyone have any help?  looks like upgrading to 4.8 does not solve the issue?
