Todd,

Since you are using GoDaddy's auto-installation for DNN, you should be able to log in immediately using the password you defined for your Control Panel. This password definition must take place prior to hitting the "Install Value Application - DNN 4.3.5" button.

I suggest you use the Control Panel to uninstall DNN 4.3.5 at this time. Then ...

When you are logged in at GoDaddy, make your way to the Control Panel (yellow & blue screen) select the first icon which is "Account Login". In there you can make your account root password.

Give it some time to make that change. Then go to the Value Applications menu again and re-install DNN 4.3.5.

Also Todd, be aware that my dialogue below with David Snow is a different deal, because we installing DNN manually at our GoDaddy shared-hosting site. So we are not using the auto-installer option.

Thanks,
Travis

DavidWSnow,

Thanks a bunch for these very detailed instructions for making a manual install of DNN on GoDaddy shared hosting.

You probably know by now that the particular error you were receiving where the browser spins forever is a bug in version DNN 4.3.6. Therefore I'll be applying your instructions using the 4.3.5_Install folder (and not 4.3.6). I'll be practicing this tonight on an empty shared-hosting plan that I have at the moment with GoDaddy.

If I understand correctly, you *were* able to install 4.3.5 eventually, by your hand, on your GoDaddy shared hosting site. Is this correct?

Travis,  You are the man !

Thanks, That worked.

I did not realize I had to establish an additional password in the Godaddy control panel.  I assumed they me the password that I used to log into my account.  It makes since now that I realize a single account can have multiple domains.

Thanks again

Todd

DavidWSnow,

Just wanted to say thanks for posting your manual install on GoDaddy set of instructions above. i used your set, in combo with a few other sets of instruction for the same goal, to manually install DNN 4.3.7 tonight on
http://www.jdphotographystl.com .

Much to my surprise, the install was successful on the very first installation attempt.
Thanks again,
Travis
