We currently receive an email when a user registers on the site, but how can we receive an email when a user enters an RSVP code to join a user role?

We issue instructions to our users to register and then enter RSVP codes to gain access to premium content.  We receive an email when a user registers, but we don't receive any emails as they join the various roles.  This makes policing who has access to what on the site very difficult as we can only tell when they register, so if we check too early they may have no roles assigned, whereas a day or two later they may have entered more RSVP codes and have more access than when we checked.

Can I set it up somewhere to email us when a user joins a role?

Same here.. I've always needed this - Some way to be notified of role changes.

The reason is that not all roles are for portal security; many of them are for external things like accounting, training, events, or whatever. In fact, the only role that I don't need to know about is the newsletter subscription.. everything else I need to know immediately.

Perhaps this is an opportunity for an enterprising developer to make a new module?.. in fact I know just who to ask, and I'll go do it now.

Rob,

Thanks for the reply on the thread.  I assume from your post that this functionality does not currently exist, and it's not just me being thick and not being able to find it.  Can you let me know if the person you ask does indeed create a module to do this.

I've made a post at Workcontrol as he does a couple of modules that would suit having this sort of featured added.

I also vaguely recall that there is a module that will send a report with profile changes. I'll try and find it.

Ok, I found it: http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&mid=1397&PackageID=6632

And I've now also fired a query off to them to see if it supports this or might in future.
