I'm trying to just call the procedure that changes a users password from another, internal, employee management application. Is that possible? I can't seem to find any code (other than method calls to "ChagePassword") or stored procedures to change a user's password. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Open DesktopModules\Admin\Security\Password.ascx.cs, you will see how dnn perform the password update process. You can use the same step in your own applications.

Thanks. I think my problem is I don't want to go through the DNN app at all. I was hoping to just handle it from the app on our intranet and go straight to our DNN database.

I might need to start a new thread, but is there a way to host a webservice on the DNN portal that I could hit from our intranet app? I mean, is there a specific location for webservices like that?

Thanks again.

There is no existing web services to let you call to update user password. However, you can call dnn api( via UserController.ChangePassword function) to do it in your app.

I don't recommend you directly access database to do same things. Because you also need handle other things (like password encryption..etc).

If you are using defautl DNN Authentication provider in DNN, it is implemented using MS Membership component. By using the same component and Machinekey, pointing to the ASPNET tables in the DNN database you should be able to perform membership actions like password management in your application.
