Error message,

An Error Has Occurred When Attempting To Save The File favicon.ico. Please Contact Your Hosting Provider To Ensure The Appropriate Security Settings Have Been Enabled On The Server.

I'm using dnn 6.2.0

IIS 7.5 on Windows 2008 R2 x32 SP1

ASP.NET 4.0

When using Site Admin and try to save a logo.jpg or favicon.ico I get an error about permissions.

I've tried the following,

Permission: Network Service full control on the entire folder DNN is in. I even tried everyone full control and still have the error.

Unchecked the read only flag on the folder.

Restarted IIS.

Still cannot save the file and have plenty of free space >10Gig

Be sure the file extention is allowed on the Host settings. Be sure the Admin have write/edit permissions for the folder you want upload the files on the dnn file manager.

Be sure you have setup both connection strings on the web.config file.

the file is a png which is ok by default, as is ico, what do you mean by 'Be sure the Admin have write/edit permissions' network service has full control and I've got forms authentication enabled.

both connections are good.

Any other idea's?

DNN had it own file manager on the admin and host(system) section, check the permissions for each folder where you want to upload your files.  If the user/role did not have the upload (write) permissions on the folder on the dnn file manager set it for the folders you need this permissions!

Well I'm stumped, I've added my account to be able to upload to the entire site, I've double checked network server full control, I've checked that ico and gif are allowed but still cannot upload via the web interface. It work when I use the visual studio IDE but not on a live server.
I've also moved the site to another server and checked it all again with the same problem.
Any other ideas?
thanks
