Hi, 

I realize this almost assuredly has been covered before, but I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for.  Can anyone give me some tips on enhancing the performance of DNN?  I currently have 3.2.2 but will be upgrading to 4.x soon.  I’d like to improve performance of the home page most.  Any info you can provide would be great.  Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  I'm not sure HTTP compression will help, my main concern is the first time the home page is loaded.  Once that page has been browsed, the site is more or less OK (although I will take your advice once the site has stabilized a bit).  I've been tempted to write a javascript, that will refresh the browser periodically, and run it from another location.  Far from ideal, but I'm not sure what else I can do.  Any other ideas?

HTTP Compression is great and it's really easy to set up  I definatly recommend it as I've noticed DNN site seem to be pretty BIG.  :)  Anyway...

If you have control of the server and the IIS process for your site you can set it up to not stop your application after a certian amount of time.  If that's not an option play with differnet cache settings.  I noticed that some of my sites work better when using threads for scheduling too.  Other than that look at your log files and see when the application stops then set up a ping that hits your site every 30 min - 1 hour or so.

Check in the 3rd party modules or google but I'm sure I've seen one that will do a keepalive for you.
